It is an analytical study because investigators form groups of individuals for determining whether the risk of disease occurrence is different for individuals exposed or not exposed to the factor of interest.
The problem is that the immunodeficiency syndrome “AIDS” pandemic has raised very difficult ethical issues in the care of patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus “HIV”. Many issues relate to measures proposed for the protection of the public from the HIV infection.
The aim of this study is to presents an analytic framework from which these measures can be rationally evaluated. The study is about an unbiased descriptive classification scheme for Alzheimer disease biomarkers.
It is a Descriptive study because it provides valuable information to enable health care providers and administrators to allocate resources efficiently and plan for effective preventive or educational programs.
The problem is that biomarkers have become an essential component of Alzheimer disease and because of the pervasiveness of (AD) pathology in the elderly, the same biomarkers are used in cognitive aging research.
The aim if this study is to propose the “A/T/N” system which is divided into 3 binary categories based on the nature of the pathophysiology that each measure. “A” refers to the value of a ?-amyloid biomarker “T” refers the value of a tau biomarker “N” biomarkers of neurodegeneration or neuronal injury. Each biomarker category is rated as positive or negative.
The method that was used is the cross-sectional method which is in general useful for raising the question of the presence of an association between the exposure and the disease.
Results: The A/T/N biomarker system will almost always be used in conjunction with complementary system to classify clinical impairment by taking an unbiased descriptive approach and avoiding syndromic or disease labels.
In conclusion, to be an effective tool in cognitive aging research, a biomarker classification system must include all possible biomarker profiles and all individuals in the population.
